Senate to welcome 13 new members
When the 94th General Assembly begins on Monday, January 9, the Arkansas Senate will welcome 13 new members, the largest class since 2003.
Of the 13 new members, seven have prior legislative experience. Six are coming straight from the Arkansas House of Representatives, though their length of service varies: Two incoming members—Senator-elect Reginald Murdock (D-Marianna) and Senator-elect Fredrick Love (D-Little Rock)—have served in the House since 2011, while Senator-elect Joshua Bryant (R-Rogers) has served one term in the House.
Senator-elect Bryan King (R-Green Forest) previously served in both the House and Senate but has been out of office since 2019.
The House is set to welcome 27 new members, including Representative-elect Grant Hodges (R-Centerton), who previously served in the House. The other 26 members are new to the legislature.
